Story of Ostara
Against a colorful background of tie-dyed hues and collaged images of her eight children, the bright pink frame of a woman’s body stands in a relaxed position, insinuating a moment of peace. The viewer is given the view of the female’s body, who seemingly looks out at her audience. Parts of the figures body are highlighted with collaged materials — the breasts are covered by a doily pattern and roses, the genitals and pelvis replaced with various flowers and shells. Halena Cline celebrates a mother’s contributions as a mother and a woman.
